Team Grades for the 2023 NBA Draft

In this story:
Years of preparation from both prospects and organizations alike went into last Thursday’s NBA Draft, with all but two teams leaving with at least one prospect.
We saw generational talent come off the board first, followed by what many believe to be some bona fide future NBA stars and a plethora of solid future NBA starters next.
Draft Digest writer Derek Parker recently took to his YouTube channel to grade the 28 teams who participated in the 2023 NBA Draft:
The few clear winners on the night all resided near the top of the draft, capitalizing on their positioning by taking the draft’s best available talent. San Antonio left with generational center prospect Victor Wembanyama. Portland had Scoot Henderson fall into their lap at No. 3, and the Rockets capitalized on both Overtime Elite guard Amen Thompson at No. 4 and the dramatic slide of Cam Whitmore, who they secured with their No. 20 pick.
There weren’t many “losers” of the draft in a traditional sense. But several teams entered the night without much capital and didn’t make any particularly flashy moves. But they’re likely just fine with their current assets to be in that position.
Be on the lookout for the newest class of NBA-ers to participate in the 2023 NBA Summer League, which runs from July 7 through July 17. Each team will play at least five games in Las Vegas.
