Prospect Profile

A sophomore forward at Saint Joseph’s, Fleming is quietly putting together an impressive career in the Atlantic 10. At 6-foot-9 with modern tools, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him actually look better at the NBA level than he does in college.

For any player in today’s game, shooting is a priority. While Fleming isn’t an elite shooter from beyond the arc, he has proven to at least be respectable. He shoots 3-pointers on decent volume for a forward as well, so he’s confident in his stroke. He still has a lot to prove if NBA scouts are going to buy his shot translating at the next level, and his really poor free throw shooting doesn’t help the case. Simply put, the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter will be a swing skill for Fleming.

Inside the arc, the sophomore prospect is extremely efficient. He makes the most of every shot and can finish in a variety of ways. He’s also a very good rebounder, especially on the offensive glass. He plays with good energy and generates quite a few second chance points for himself and others.

On the defensive end, Fleming has shown improvement from year one to year two. He’s in the right spot more frequently this season and has emerged as a much more consistent shot blocker. He leverages his length to be disruptive in passing lanes and certainly has upside on that end of the floor moving forward.

Fleming wasn’t an elite recruit, but did play at Camden High School and on some extremely competitive AAU circuits. Once again at the college level, he’s a prospect that isn’t talked about all that often, but absolutely has an NBA skillset.
