First Photos of New Grizzlies Player Working Out Surface
One of the most anticipated pickups this offseason was the Memphis Grizzlies adding Marcus Smart. Out of every player who moved teams, no one quite has a fit like Marcus Smart on the Grizzlies, now, it's starting to feel a bit more real.
The Memphis Grizzlies posted the first official photos of Smart working out in the Grizzlies gym, and Smart posted them himself on Instagram.
It's going to be very fascinating to see how quickly Marcus Smart acclimates to the Memphis Grizzlies roster. While he has the perfect fit on the team, replacing Dillon Brooks, Smart has a plethora of responsibilities on the team. The Grizzlies are expecting Marcus Smart to be an All-NBA level defender, be the team's emotional and mental leader, and also lead the Grizzlies while Ja Morant starts the season suspended.
Fortunately for Smart, he won't be alone in leading the Memphis Grizzlies. He's already previously mentioned that he'll lean on veterans like Derrick Rose. Additionally, with Jaren Jackson Jr.'s inclusion in Team USA, it'll surely help give the Grizzlies the leadership that they desperately need.
The Memphis Grizzlies are still roughly two months under training camp. Despite that, Marcus Smart is already in the gym and ready to lead this team.
