Huge Dunk By Jayson Tatum Highlights Boston Celtics' 17-Point Halftime Lead Against Miami Heat in Game 5
The Boston Celtics warned everyone they only need one victory to get going against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals.
Apparently, they weren't kidding.
The Celtics played a nearly flawless first half in grabbing a 61-44 lead. They shot 51 percent, making 11 of 25 3-pointers. Jaylen Brown led the way with 15 points while Derrick White added 14. Four Celtics players scored in double-figures in the first half.
Tatum got things going with a thunderous slam in the first quarter.
The Heat, who won the first three games of the series, are now one half from dropping two straight unless Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo wake up.
They combined for just 14 points. That left most of the scoring load on Duncan Robinson, who had 13 points. Caleb Martin was the Heat's second-leading scorer at 9 points.
