Hornets Drop to Worst Team in the NBA

The Hornets fall to 15-48.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - New Charlotte Hornets Executive VP of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson told the team earlier this week that he's going to use these final 20-or-so games to evaluate the roster, helping him make decisions for the offseason.

Well, in the first game since that speech, the Hornets hit a new low - falling to the Washington Wizards, the worst team in the NBA, by a score of 112-100.

The offense was near non-existent in the opening quarter with the Hornets scoring just 16 points. They turned thing around in the second and third quarters, but the defense collapsed in the final twelve minutes of the game allowing 44 points.

Kyle Kuzma led the way for the Wizards with 28 despite an 0/7 night from three-point range. Richaun Holmes (14 pts, 11 rebs) and Deni Avdija (18 pts, 14 rebs) also played a big part in the win by registering double-doubles.

Best of the Night: Miles Bridges

He, much like everyone on the court tonight couldn't shoot the deep ball but he found other ways to score the ball. He converted 13/27 shots and was perfect from the free throw line, accounting for 32% of the Hornets' points.

Worst of the Night: Three-point shooting

This was without question the worst three-point performance we've seen this season by both teams. The two combined to shoot 15/75 (20%) from deep.

Stat of the Night:

With his 32-point, 12-rebound night, it marks the fifth time in Miles Bridges' career he's logged 30+ points and 10+ rebounds in the same game
