It was reported on Monday evening by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that seven-time All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge will be working out for the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. Having last played with the Brooklyn Nets, a role with the Dallas Mavericks would see Aldridge reunite with former teammate Kyrie Irving, who he played parts of two seasons with.

At 37 years old, Aldridge does not project to have a big role on any team in the NBA, but he did provide some offensive utility for the Nets last season, averaging 12.9 PPG in just 22.3 minutes per contest. Never heavily reliant on athleticism, Aldridge has made most of his money in the mid-range, which is an area he could likely still go to work in. While the defensive end will remain a concern, as it was in Brooklyn, there could be a limited bench role for Aldridge with the Mavericks.

There have been rumblings of Aldridge potentially eyeing an NBA comeback, and that has now been confirmed by Wojnarowski, who reported that the veteran big man does indeed have a workout coming up with the Mavericks. Eyeing a potential reunion with his former Nets teammate Kyrie Irving, Aldridge will look to bolster a Mavs team that hopes to compete for a championship this season.

Not the player he once was, Aldridge can likely still get buckets in limited minutes, which could be of interest for Dallas.
