Kevin Durant Weighs In on Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving Duo

In his NBA All-Star Media Day availability, Kevin Durant gave his opinion on Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving teaming up with the Dallas Mavericks.

After the Phoenix Suns acquired Kevin Durant in a blockbuster deadline trade from the Brooklyn Nets, the Western Conference became a lot more loaded with star power.

The Suns, who are viewed as a top NBA championship contender, will certainly have lots of competition in the playoffs. One of those teams is the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks acquired Kyrie Irving a few days before Durant was packaged out of Brooklyn. Dallas now has a star-studded backcourt of Irving and Doncic. The duo has compiled a 1-4 record when both guards are playing, but Durant believes they will be 'incredible.'

"It's going to be incredible," said Durant during his NBA All-Star Media Day availability. "You see already the last game they played together, they lost, but they were down 20. In the fourth quarter, they both came out there, and Kyrie had 26 in the fourth, and Luka hit some big shots. So it's going to be like that. It's going to be tough to guard them."

Like his former All-Star teammate in Brooklyn, Durant is thrilled to play with Chris Paul in Phoenix. The 13-time NBA All-Star provided huge praise to Paul and is attracted by his passion for the game.

I think his IQ for the game. I think his enthusiasm for the game. I think that goes underrated," Durant said. "CP [Chris Paul] really loves ball. He just likes watching the game, like analyzing. Like going through strategy and stuff."

It is unclear when Durant will suit up for the Suns. He is expected to return to the hardwood after the All-Star break. Durant hasn't played since Jan. 8 after suffering an MCL sprain in his right knee.
