Kevin Durant's Hilarious Reaction To Breanna Stewart Joining New York Liberty

Shortly after Breanna Stewart announced she was signing with the New York Liberty, Kevin Durant tweeted out a hilarious reaction.

The growth of basketball in Brooklyn, New York took a huge step on Wednesday morning. In a borough that already features the superstars of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Sabrina Ionescu, and Jonquel Jones, the WNBA's biggest free agent is taking her talents to Barclays Center.

Forward Breanna Stewart announced that she is signing with the New York Liberty on social media. And Durant welcomed her to Barclays Center in a hilarious way.

"Aye, don't call my phone looking for tickets this summer, they gone," Durant tweeted. "Let's get it @nyliberty."

The two superstars have a strong relationship with each other. In recent weeks, Durant was making handfuls of recruiting pitches to Stewart to take her talents to Brooklyn. On his The ETC's podcast, he spoke about one of his direct pitches he messaged Stewart herself.

“If Stewie comes here it would be ridiculous,” Durant said. “I hit her the other day, and I never do this, and was like, ‘Yo, it would be an incredible dynasty in New York City if you came here.’”

Outside of the recruiting pitches, pitches that have ended as a win, the Nets star provided advice to the newest Liberty superstar when she was undergoing rehab for a torn Achilles.

“Well, it’s been a roller coaster of emotions for sure and I decided to go to New York because I want to continue to be great,” Stewart said during an interview on ESPN on Wednesday afternoon. “And I want to go to the place where I can continue to help this league become better. To continue to raise the standard and I feel like, why not go to the biggest market in all of sports. I’m really excited to go after their first championship.”
