Ever since the Nest move to the Borough of Brooklyn, it seems the "Nets" branding has taken a backseat to the new city the franchise now calls home.

After seven years at Barclays Center, the Nets are reportedly going back to their roots and bringing back the distinctive red alternate jersey that the team fashioned during its formative years in the Garden State for select games this upcoming season.

Again, this jersey unveiling hasn't been confirmed by the Nets or the NBA, but the site that calls itself Jersey Monster is claiming that the Nets will showcase this oldie, but a goodie this NBA season.

The thought of seeing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving wear a jersey that was reserved for Kris Humphries and the 12-win Net team from 2009-2010 at the Izod Center is mind blowing in and of itself. Oddly enough, I attended three Nets home games that year and the team won all three: Clippers, Kings and Hornets respectively.

Go figure!

If one thing is for certain, the Nets aim to win more than 12-games in 2019-2020 and bring respectability back to the red alternates.
