Suns Sign Two Guards, Waive Frank Jackson

The Suns welcome Adonis Arms and Saben Lee to the roster while departing with Frank Jackson.

On Tuesday, the Phoenix Suns announced the signing of guards Adonis Arms and Saben Lee. 

In a corresponding move, the Suns released Frank Jackson.

The move to release Jackson was reported earlier in the day but now becomes official. He played just ten minutes in two games for Phoenix.

"Arms (6-5, 205 pounds) averaged 8.6 points on 44.8% shooting, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in his final season of college eligibility at Texas Tech last season. After going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft he played for the Denver Nuggets during the 2022 NBA Summer League, averaging 9.4 points on 54.8% shooting, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 14.3 minutes of action and was a member of the Nuggets’ training camp roster.

"Born in Milwaukee, Arms moved to Phoenix when he was 12 years old, playing his high school basketball at Desert Vista High School. Prior to his one season at Texas Tech, Arms spent his first two collegiate seasons at Mesa Community College before transferring to Northwest Nazarene for a year, followed by two years at Winthrop."

Saben Lee

Saben Lee

Lee (6-2, 183 pounds) most recently averaged 5.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists rebounds in 37 games with the Detroit Pistons last season. A two-year NBA veteran, he holds career averages of 5.6 points on 43.4% shooting and 2.2 rebounds in 85 games (seven starts), all with Detroit. Lee was named to the 2022 All-NBA G League Second Team, averaging 24.0 points, 6.8 assists and 2.2 steals in 19 regular season games for the Motor City Cruise. He was traded by the Pistons to the Utah Jazz in September before recently becoming a free agent.

Prior to being selected by the Jazz with the 38th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Lee grew up in Phoenix where he played at Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe. He was named First Team All-State in both his junior and senior seasons before going on to play collegiately at Vanderbilt. With the Commodores, he averaged 13.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assist over three seasons.
