Timberwolves trade rumors: Minnesota interested in Alec Burks, Delon Wright

There are two more names to monitor as the trade deadline approaches, per HoopsHype.

The Timberwolves have been tied to several names as the NBA’s trade deadline approaches on Thursday. Two more names to keep an eye on are the Washington Wizards’ Delon Wright and the Detroit Pistons’ Alec Burks, according to HoopsHype.

HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reported that Minnesota has shown interest in Wright and Burks, however, The Athletic reported on Monday that the Pistons are leaning toward keeping Burks. The Athletic also reported that the Wolves have remained interested in Monte Morris, but that the Pistons value “what Morris brings to the table as a veteran guard who takes care of the ball and can shoot.”

Burks, a shooting guard, averages 12.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game this season for Detroit and is a player who can stretch the floor, shooting 39% from 3-point range.

Burks has the ability to get extremely hot from deep. In January, he made at least five 3-pointers in four games, including hitting seven and eight, respectively, in games against the Bucks and Wizards.

Wright, meanwhile, averages 4.4 points, 2.8 assists and 2.0 rebounds and while he’s also a 2 guard, he is a good ball handler who’s shown versatility on both sides of the floor and shoots 37% from 3.

HoopsHype also reported that the Timberwolves are hopeful to re-sign point guard Mike Conley next season, citing sources. Conley, 36, will be a free agent this summer.

Per HoopsHype, other executives have been monitoring Wendell Moore Jr., Shake Milton and Troy Brown Jr. as potential trade targets on the Timberwolves.
