Draymond Green's Bold Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards Statement

The Phoenix Suns will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in round one

The Phoenix Suns will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the opening round of the Western Conference playoffs, which sets up an exciting star matchup between Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant. While both teams have other stars and key players, many eyes will be on the Durant vs. Edwards battle.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green said Durant needs to take the challenge of defending Edwards in order for the Suns to win this series.

“I think Phoenix will win the series,” Green said. “They got too much firepower offensively. Here’s what will have to happen for Phoenix to win the series. At some point throughout this series, Kevin Durant is going to have to guard Anthony Edwards."

Green added, "If Phoenix is going to have a chance at winning this series, at some point - may not be Game 1, may not be Game 2 or 3, but at some point in this series, Kevin Durant is going to have to say, ‘Alright, I’m going - and Bradley Beal is a good defender, Brad competes, but at some point, Kevin is going to have to take his length, his defensive tenacity when he wants to turn that up, and he’s gonna have to go guard Anthony Edwards if they’re going to move forward in this series.”

This should be a fun series between two great teams.
