Draymond Green Breaks Silence on Controversial Ejection

Draymond Green opened up about letting the Warriors down.

Once Draymond Green was suspended this season, there was an expectation that he'd learned from all of his actions. An expectation that he wouldn't let his teammates down anymore over petty arguments with the referees, but that expectation wasn't met.

On Wednesday night, Green was ejected within four minutes of the first quarter in a pivotal game against the Orlando Magic. The Warriors ultimately won the game, but no one was happy about his ejection, especially Steph Curry.

Now that the dust has cleared, Draymond Green went on his podcast today and opened up about his ejection from the game. The first thing he did was admit that he deserved to get kicked out.

"I said what I said, I deserved to get kicked out after that point," Green said. "If I'm all the way honest with y'all, I kinda was trying to turn my body and angle it and go to the bench, I said what I said a little too soon before angling my body to the bench."

If there's any silver lining to the situation, it's that Green immediately took accountability for his actions. He admitted it just can't happen and that the Warriors need to win games.

"It just can't happen," Green said. "We need to win games. Like I said, not going to overreact. Stuff is never as good as it seems, never as bad as it seems. I know where I am, I understand what I'm doing moving forward. My position, just make sure that that's the exception and not the rule."

For as accountable as Draymond Green be after the fact, actions are louder than words. These outbursts can't happen again for the Warriors.
