DeAndre Hopkins broke the NFL internet on Friday when news broke that the Arizona Cardinals officially released him and he is now available to sign with any team of his choice. It's been a rollercoaster ride with him in the 2023 offseason and even though he apparently had no idea why people thought he wanted out, his actions said otherwise.

Just a couple of days ago, the veteran wide receiver went on air and shared five quarterbacks that he would love to play with. That was definitely odd to say for someone coming off a year where his squad went 4-13. Among the QB's he mentioned, Justin Herbert was one and Chargers fans have been speculating about a potential signing.

Hopkins will turn 31 next month so that is something to think about. The biggest reason as to why a trade was not pursued for him by the Bolts was because they opted to go with a younger option in Quentin Johnston in the 2023 draft and they already esteemed options with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Also, LA already has a pretty set group on the offensive side with a lot of their weapons being home-grown. But the biggest argument for trying to go after Hopkins now is that they could try to get him on a cheaper deal and give Justin Herbert a crazy big three of passing options.

However, ESPN's own Lindsey Thiry has some serious concerns if LA's front office tries to make a move for the multi-time All-Pro and doesn't think there is much seriousness to it.

"The Chargers WR room: Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Joshua Palmer, Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis, Jalen Guyton. Can't see the #Chargers pursuing DeAndre Hopkins."

Hopkins is going draw plenty of attention now that he is a free agent and any squad looking to take the next step will try to land him. We'll have to see how it plays out and if Tom Telesco will approach the situation with seriousness.
