DeAndre Hopkins continues to push for a trade away from the Arizona Cardinals as numerous team around the NFL begin their OTA's, even if he does not admit it. His squad is coming off of a terrible season where he was one of their lone bright spots.

Arizona finished last place in the NFC West as they went 4-13 and many of their top guys were plagued by injuries. Trade rumors first began surfacing a couple of months ago when free agency first started and Hopkins was hoping that all the movement in the league could lead to a trade for him.

Your Los Angeles Chargers were mentioned multiple times as potential suitors in a deal for him when rumors were heating up and even though they never made a serious offer, Hopkinfs mentioned Justin Herbert as a quarterback that he would love to suit up with.

So why didn't the Bolts make a move for the all-pro receiver? His contract isn't huge for the next two seasons as he is set to make $19 million in 2023 and $14 million in 2024. However, he will want a much bigger deal once he becomes a free agent after that and LA already has their own expenses to cover.

Therefore, a move to the Chargers at this point just doesn't make sense. Experts from Last Word On Sports pinpointed their pass-catching depth as the biggest reason why.

"There was a time when the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens would have made sense in a DeAndre Hopkins trade, but that window has passed. Los Angeles already has a reliable trio of wide receivers in Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, and Quentin Johnston. It’s hard to see how Hopkins fits in here, especially considering his skill set is a little redundant with Williams and Johnston."

The Chargers already have a nice crop of talent moving forward even without making this blockbuster deal!
