As the Los Angeles Chargers get ready to take on the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, they look to be getting some ample reinforcements back. Running back Austin Ekeler has been practicing all week and looks to be cleared for a return to game action.

Getting Ekeler back should help this Bolts offense tremendously, especially against this tough Dallas defense. Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore spoke about what a return of Ekeler means for their team.

"Obviously, Austin is one of the top running backs in this league," Moore said. "We'd love to have him back and we're really excited to have him."

It seems that all systems are go for Ekeler to return in this game, which will be a welcomed sight for the Bolts' offense. The team has really struggled to move the ball on the ground since he went down, so his presence in the lineup is needed against this Dallas team.

Ekeler gives the Chargers options in their offense, as he can beat teams on the ground and in the passing game. He is one of the better pass-catching running backs in the NFL, so the Chargers may look to get him involved in that aspect of the game.

Even his teammates are excited about him returning because they know what he can do. Fellow back Joshua Kelley, who has taken the brunt of work since Ekeler went out, gave his thoughts on the return.

"He can do so much — run game, pass game, all of that. I know what he's capable of doing. It's just going to be great for our room, the offense in general and as a team."

Since Dallas loves to put pressure in the backfield, the Chargers may want to use more quick-action set plays to get the offense going. Having Ekeler in the mix will help open that up if they decide to go that route, and it could help keep the defense guessing all night.

We should be in for a great matchup on Monday night, and Ekeler presents the Chargers with a much-needed return. Coming off their bye week, LA sits at 2-2 on the season, and they can't afford to drop this game.
