We're still ways away from the start of the 2023 season, and a ton can still happen this off-season. Your Los Angeles Chargers will look to make some big noise in 2023 as it is a prove-it year for quarterback Justin Herbert

Nonetheless, the AFC West is back and will be much better than last season. The Denver Broncos will be much better, The Kansas City Chiefs are the defending champs and will look to repeat, and the Las Vegas Raiders will remain a formidable team for LA, as always.

DraftKings sportsbook released the over/under and the projected standings for all 32 NFL teams. They have your Los Angeles Chargers making the playoffs, but in a wild card spot and with an over/under win total of 9.5.

The AFC is the superior of the two conferences, and it's not close. It's like murders row in the AFC when we're talking about the quarterback position alone. Five teams are above the Bolts: their division rival Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the New York Jets.

I won't go ahead and say the Chargers will be the best team in the AFC, but rather why they will win more than nine games. The Chargers will have a better offensive coordinator at their disposal. Kellen Moore is making his way to Southern California from the Lone Star state and will manage a much better QB in Herbert. This offensive line is the best Herbert has had in his career, and a competent OC will do the job for the Chargers on the offensive side.

If healthy, this Chargers' defense will make some noise. You still have the big names in Derwin James, Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and newly acquired Eric Kendricks. Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is a brilliant defensive mind, and new defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley will try and carry the defense to a superior one.

The LA front office will do its due diligence in improving and overall roster. The Bolts will make a serious run for the AFC West title and beyond.

Come back to this in December.
