4 Free Agents Commanders Could Sign in Free Agency

The Washington Commanders could be a big player in free agency this offseason.

The NFL's legal tampering period begins today, which means the Washington Commanders and the other 31 teams can talk to outside free agents and negotiate contracts. However, none of the deals will be made official until the start of the new league year on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.

The Commanders have a ton of needs and the most cap space in the NFL, so they will be linked to some of the league's top free agents.

Here are four players that could look to sign with the Commanders ...

LB Patrick Queen, Baltimore Ravens

OG Robert Hunt, Miami Dolphins

EDGE Danielle Hunter, Minnesota Vikings

EDGE Dorance Armstrong, Dallas Cowboys

Here we see the Commanders address some key positions in the interior offensive line and on the defensive edges with Hunter and Armstrong but they also land one of the top linebackers in the league with Queen moving down the road from Baltimore to Washington.

Signing two edge rushers effectively replaces Montez Sweat and Chase Young who the team traded last year for a pair of 2024 NFL Draft picks.

Armstrong is the most interesting player here as he leaves the Cowboys to follow coaches Dan Quinn and Joe Whitt Jr. to the Commanders for a chance at becoming a consistent starter for the first time in his career after racking up 16 sacks with just six starts over the past two seasons.
