Cowboys Ex Kellen Moore Gets Bold Message from Eagles' A.J. Brown & DeVonta Smith

Dallas Cowboys Ex Kellen Moore Gets Bold Message from Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown & DeVonta Smith

FRISCO - The NFC East is undergoing "change'' via the NFL Coaching Carousel ... though some of the "change'' is simply about guys switching out to different saddled ponies.

In addition to Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn taking the top job with the Washington Commanders, and in addition to ousted Commanders boss Ron Rivera setting up a visit - as first reported by CowboysSI.com - to take Quinn's old office here at The Star - the Philadelphia Eagles made a coaching move.

They hired former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to handle the same role, replacing the now-fired Brian Johnson.

And Eagles star receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown are reacting to the hiring via an appearance on Kay Adams' "Up & Adams" show during which they revealed their "one wish" for Moore next season.

“Just let us do what we do," Smith said. "Like anybody else would say, just get us the ball.”

Did the Eagles not do enough of that last year?

Brown finished with 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. ... though his 100-yard receiving-games streak faded. He had six during the first eight weeks of the season but had just one more the rest of the way.

Smith, he finished with 81 catches for 1,066 yards and seven scores, and with Brown out for Philly's Wild Card matchup at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Smith posted a season-high 148 yards on eight catches - albeit in an embarrassing blowout loss.

Smith and Brown literally giggled as they responded to the question, surely all meant as a dig at the departed Johnson. We might suggest that such behavior is one of the reasons the Eagles locker room has been labeled as "dysfunctional'' and "miserable''; maybe almost laughing out at the alleged incompetence of one's boss isn't the most professional way to conduct business.

That's been a problem for coach Nick Sirianni ... and now it's Kellen Moore's problem to help fix.
