2024 NFL Mock Draft: QBs, Pass-Catchers Dominate Top 10

The first round starts with a run on top quarterbacks and dynamic offensive weapons in this updated projection for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Every year, the early going of the NFL Draft is usually dominated by the top quarterback prospects, and it looks like the 2024 class will be no different.

This year's draft also features a treasure trove of dynamic pass-catchers who should also feature heavily at the top of the draft board.

That's what happens in the latest 2024 NFL mock draft from Will McFadden at BLEAV, which has quarterbacks coming off the board with each of the top three selections, followed by three straight pass-catching weapons.

USC's Caleb Williams takes the top spot with the Chicago Bears, while North Carolina's Drake Maye follows close behind, landing with the Washington Commanders at the No. 2 slot. LSU's Jayden Daniels, this year's Heisman Trophy winner, goes No. 3 to the New England Patriots.

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is the top overall prospect in the draft, but QBs could push him down the board.

Williams and Maye feel like locks to go 1-2 at this point, but the Pats will have an intriguing decision to make at No. 3. They desperately need a franchise passer, but do they take the third-best one in this year's class, or opt for the best overall player in the entire draft in Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who would also fill a huge need for the offense?

Harrison doesn't have to wait long to hear his name called in this mock, though, as he's the first non-quarterback off the board at the No. 4 pick, landing with the Arizona Cardinals. He's quickly followed by another pair of pass-catchers in Georgia tight end Brock Bowers (No. 5, Los Angeles Chargers) and LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers (No. 6, New York Giants).

Another receiver cracks the top 10, with Washington's Rome Odunze heading to the Chicago Bears at the No. 9 pick, while the only other quarterback listed in this first-round projection is Michigan's J.J. McCarthy, who goes to the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 13. That scenario would leave other top passers like Washington's Michael Penix Jr. and Oregon's Bo Nix waiting until Day 2 to come off the board.
