Latest Update on Anthony Richardson's Shoulder Injury

Get the latest on the shoulder injury suffered by the Colts' rookie quarterback Sunday.

For the second time in his young NFL career, it looks like Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson will be missing some time due to injury.

The star rookie left Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans in the first half with a right (throwing) shoulder injury, and did not return to the game. Richardson was in obvious pain on the field, and could be seen clearly favoring his right arm as he headed to the locker room.

The initial diagnosis for Richardson's injury was a Grade 3 sprain of the AC joint, but results of a pending MRI will be necessary to confirm, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport:

If that proves true, Richardson could be out for at least a month (per Rapoport), which would make him a likely candidate for short-term injured reserve.

When healthy, Richardson has already flashed some of the game-breaking potential that made him the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Hopefully, once he's returned to full strength from this latest injury, it'll be a long time before he's back on the shelf.
