One-Liner:

A springy interior defender that provides adequate run support and plus pass rush.

Evaluation:

Lines up as a shade-1 technique, 2i, and 3 tech. Threatens pocket depth with significant interior push. Surprising get off that can startle linemen. Bullrush to break anchors. Heavy hands at the junction point, swiping and shedding with functional play strength. Quick swim that agitates guards and leaves him with clean looks at the quarterback. Team will run him on twists and games. Can hold up at the point of attack as a two-gapper. Not a consistent three-down player. Can be late to disengage or unable to, leaving creases for the back despite body positioning. Lovett is an intriguing prospect thanks to his cat quickness and ability to generate a pass rush from interior alignments. Teams will love the pocket push he provides as well as the ability to hold the point of attack. To help his draft positioning, winning consistently in All star game 1vs1’s, answering any conditioning questions, and testing well will be paramount.
