It might seem hard to believe, but Penn State has never had a defensive back picked in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Last year, Joey Porter Jr. barely missed out on that title by technicality, as he was the No. 32 overall pick, which would have been a first-rounder in any other year. Thanks to the Miami Dolphins' forfeited pick, that 32nd overall selection was the first pick of the second round instead of the final pick of the first round.

Fear not, though, Nittany Lion fans. Next year's draft should give you another chance to check off that box thanks to Kalen King.

One of the best cornerback prospects in the country, King has all the traits to be a shutdown artist at the next level, and appears to be a first-round lock heading into the 2023 season.
