'Hire Him!': Los Angeles Rams' Sean McVay's Lakers Appearance Spawns Jokes Among NBA Fans

Some Los Angeles Lakers fans jokingly want to see Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay pull double duty.

Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay is arguably the best coach in the NFL, and apparently, he's so good that some want to see him try coaching in an entirely different sport.

On Saturday, McVay made a courtside appearance at Crypto.com Arena to watch the Los Angeles Lakers' 116-97 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers posted a photo of McVay at the game, and almost immediately, fans flocked to the post to share a common sentiment.

Several Lakers fans jokingly suggested that the team should fire head coach Darvin Ham, and hire McVay in his place.

"Hire him and fire Ham," the top reply reads.

"He can do both jobs for the Rams and Lakers!!" another user wrote.

"Clone him so one of the 2 Sean McVays can coach the Lakers next year," a third user wrote.

The Lakers currently occupy the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 45-33 record, although they could rise as high as the fourth seed depending on how the end of the season goes. It may seem strange for fans of a team in playoff position to be calling for their coach's job, but Ham has frequently come under fire for his lineup decisions. Plus, the Lakers, especially with LeBron James and Anthony Davis in tow, expect far more than just making the playoffs.

Since taking over last season, Ham has amassed an 88-72 record in the regular season, as well as an 8-8 record in the playoffs en route to a Western Conference Finals appearance.

Unfortunately for this small set of Lakers fans, McVay still has his hands full with trying to lead the Rams to another Super Bowl title.
