Ravens BREAKING: ‘Phenomenal' Chuck Clark Traded to Jets

Ravens safety Chuck Clark requested a trade last season after the team selected Kyle Hamilton in the first round of the draft. And now he moves.

Baltimore Ravens safety Chuck Clark was not happy when the Ravens used their first-round pick to select Kyle Hamilton in the 2022 draft.

That decision created uncertainty regarding Clark's future with the franchise and he requested a trade, which never came to fruition. …

Until now. Clark is being traded to the New York Jets for a late-round pick.

Clark, a sixth-round draft pick in 2017 from Virginia Tech, decided that he was going to fight for his starting job and had one of his best seasons.

Nonetheless, Clark faced more uncertainty as GM Eric DeCosta tries to navigate the salary cap and a massive contract extension for quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Last season, Clark started all 17 games and finished second on the team with a career-high 101 tackles. He also had four passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble return.

Clark played a key role in helping Baltimore’s defense rank in the Top 5 in four categories — No. 3 in points allowed per game (18.5), No. 3 in defensive red zone touchdown percentage (46.4), No. 3 in rushing yards per game (92.1), and No. 4 in third-down efficiency (34.9%)

It worked in the Ravens' favor to keep Clark around because fellow safety Marcus Williams missed seven games with a fractured wrist. But now the Ravens and Clark move on.
