NFL Mock Draft: Ravens Add Another Penn State Pass Rusher?

After taking Odafe Oweh out of Penn State in the first round in 2021, the Baltimore Ravens dip back into the well in CBS' mock draft.

The Baltimore Ravens led the league in sacks last season, but could they still aim to prove their pass rushers ahead of next season?

In CBS Sports' mock draft, they had the Ravens taking Penn State pass rusher Chop Robinson with their pick in the first round. Robinson would be the second Penn State pass rusher Baltimore has taken in the first round, as they took Odafe Oweh in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

"Ravens go best player available here, and that just so happens to be another Penn State pass rusher in Chop Robinson," CBS Sports writes. "He reunites with Odafe Oweh as Baltimore improves its pass-rush depth."

Robinson began his collegiate career at Maryland in 2021 before transferring to Penn State for the 2022 season. Robinson's sophomore season as a Nittany Lion was his best, as he set career highs in sacks (5.5), tackles (26), tackles-for-loss (10) and passes defended (2) in 12 games.

The 6-foot-3 pass rusher was solid in 2023, though he didn't match his numbers in 2022. Robinson had four sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss in his final collegiate season. Before the 2023 season, Robinson was named a second-team All-American and added to the watch lists for the Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

Pass rusher is a sneaky need for the Ravens, as Jadeveon Clowney and Kyle Van Noy are set to hit free agency after combing for 18.5 of the team's league-leading 60 sacks. There are also lingering questions surrounding David Ojabo's health and whether Baltimore will pick up Oweh's fifth-year option ahead of next season.

If Robinson is one of the best players available when the Ravens are on the clock and they believe they can get the most out of him, he should be one of the players heavily considered with the Ravens' first-round pick.
