Ravens Remain in Elite Standing in NFL Power Rankings Following Week 15 Win vs. Jaguars

The Baltimore Ravens are still in strong standing in the NFL power rankings released on Tuesday.

The Baltimore Ravens are fresh off a 23-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on "Sunday Night Football" in Week 15, further solidifying their standing as one of the elite teams in the National Football League.

Sports Illustrated released its updated list of NFL power rankings on Tuesday, and the Ravens came in at No. 2 on the list, second only to the red-hot San Francisco 49ers. You can read an excerpt from the piece below.

This week on the podcast, guest co-host Rohan Nadkarni brought up a great point: how do we quantify the lack of negative yardage saved by Lamar Jackson? He’s so maddening to bring down and gets you positive yardage when other quarterbacks would lose perhaps five or 10 yards in a sack situation. This changes the dynamics of everything, from more obvious scoring opportunities to a shift in field position advantages.

Jackson threw for 171 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the win on Sunday, but he was also the Ravens' leading rusher with 97 yards on 12 carries. The Baltimore quarterback continues to present himself as a legitimate league MVP candidate, but his eyes are locked on securing the top seed in the AFC for his team when the postseason rolls around.

Speaking of the top seed, that's where the Ravens find themselves in the current AFC playoff picture, and they clinched a playoff berth with Sunday's win over Jacksonville.

Baltimore will have a stiff test to overcome this week if it hopes to keep its positive momentum going. It will travel to face the aforementioned 49ers on "Monday Night Football," suiting up in Santa Clara on Christmas Day.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on ABC.
