DeAndre Hopkins Could Be Headed to Browns

The Cleveland Browns are emerging as a dark horse for free agent DeAndre Hopkins.

PITTSBURGH — Former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is “open” to signing with the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Fowler says Hopkins could be looking to join the AFC North and reunite with quarterback Deshaun Watson, and that he “senses” the Browns are a dark horse in signing the All-Pro.

Hopkins and Watson played together on the Houston Texans from 2017-2019. The two combine for 315 receptions, 4,115 yards and 31 touchdowns.

The Texans went 24-13 during Watson and Hopkins time together in Houston.

Hopkins, 30, is reportedly looking for a “significant contract” with his new team, but wants to play for a contender.

Cleveland went 3-3 in the six games Watson played after his return from suspension last season. He threw for 1,102 yards and seven touchdowns.

Hopkins would add to a growing receiver room with Amari Cooper, Donovan People-Jones and rookie Cedric Tillman.
