Steelers QB Kenny Pickett Has One Goal This Season

Everything will fall into place if the Pittsburgh Steelers are winning.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett doesn't have any personal goals for his second year in the NFL. He understands what comes with winning, and therefore, he's walking into the 2023 season with one thing written on his list of accomplishments -- win a Super Bowl.

Pickett appeared on 93.7 The Fan and talked about a number of things, from his pregame routine to players he believes are going to shine this season. But when he was asked about his goals for the upcoming season, he explained how everyone's personal goals will be achieved as long as the ultimate goal is accomplished as well.

"The individual goals, and I go back to my time at Pitt, if you win a championship, I guarantee 80% of the starters hit the goals that they have set for themselves," Pickett said. "That's the best advice I can give people. Guys are playing for different contracts, or they want these kinds of numbers. The guys that get paid, the guys that are on all these All-Pros, the championship teams are those guys. That's how it works."

The former Pitt quarterback does have experience hitting his goals by winning. In his final year as a Panther, returning to improve his draft stock, Pickett led the team to an ACC championship. A few months later, he was the first quarterback taken in the NFL Draft.

Pittsburgh's wideouts, George Pickens and Diontae Johnson have both listed some pretty hefty goals for the upcoming year. They understand the goal of winning comes first, but if Pickett is right, both should have star-like seasons if the Steelers end up making a run.

We'll see how the Steelers turn out by the time the season rolls around, but if Pickett only has his eyes on one prize this season, it should excite fans to hear he's hunting for a Super Bowl.
