Kwon Alexander Reveals Jersey Number With Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers new linebacker will dress in a familiar number.

LATROBE -- The Pittsburgh Steelers added inside linebacker Kwon Alexander, who will join them at Saint Vincent College as they end Week 1 of training camp. And for fans looking out for their newest signee, the team has revealed his jersey number.

Alexander will wear No. 26 with the Steelers. Because he and running back Anthony McFarland have the same number, that could change if both players make the roster. Chances are McFarland would keep the number because he's worn it with the team for the last three seasons.

In recent years, McFarland, Mark Barron and Le'Veon Bell have dressed in No. 26.

The 28-year-old joins the Steelers after one season with the New York Jets. In nine seasons, he's accumulated 95 games, including 86 starts, and has recorded eight interceptions and 590 tackles.

Alexander will compete with Cole Holcomb, Elandon Roberts and Mark Robinson for the starting job. If he doesn't beat out all three, he's still considered a primary depth piece for the new group of inside linebackers.
