Report: Steelers Interested in Signing Bud Dupree

The Pittsburgh Steelers have early interest in bringing back their former edge rusher.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have "preliminary" interest in signing former first-round pick Bud Dupree, according to NFL reporter Josina Anderson.

Anderson reports that the Steelers are seeing if Dupree is healthy, and if he is, they'd like to bring him back. Meanwhile, Dupree is seeing what his market value is going to be after his release from the Tennessee Titans.

Dupree spent the last two years in Tennessee after signing a five-year, $82 million deal. Unfortunately, he never really bounced back from an ACL injury and recorded just seven sacks during his time with the Titans.

Returning to Pittsburgh would mean Dupree takes on a rotation role behind T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. So far, the team has just Jamir Jones and Quincy Roche on the roster as depth.

During his final two seasons with the Steelers, Dupree recorded 19.5 sacks in 27 games.
