Steelers' Mitch Trubisky Doubles Down on False Report Diontae Johnson Punched Him

The reported drama between the Pittsburgh Steelers teammates continues to be denied.

PITTSBURGH -- The claim Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson punched quarterback Mitch Trubisky in the face during a halftime confrontation continues to be refuted by those allegedly involved.

CBS Sports analyst Greg Gionnoti reported that Johnson punched Trubisky at halftime in the locker room prior to the team replacing Trubisky with Kenny Pickett. Afterward, Pickett remained the starter for the rest of the season.

Johnson immediately denied the allegation.

Now, Trubisky is also calling the report fake.

Johnson said later in the season that there was an argument but he and Trubisky have since resolved any issues. However, they never did and still are not claiming it went any further than words being exchanged in a heated moment.

"We’re both passionate about the game. Stuff happens during football,” Johnson said. “We’re fine, we talked about it. We made up, better over the whole situation. No hard feelings towards each other. That’s still my guy at the end of the day."
