Steelers Pull George Pickens From Starting Lineup

The Pittsburgh Steelers make a change to their offensive starters.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers did not introduce George Pickens as a starter in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers after the wide receiver showcased some frustrations following the team's Week 9 win.

Pickens was the subject of headlines throughout the week after deleting pictures associated with the Steelers from his Instagram and posting "free me" on his story. He told reporters later in the week that he was not frustrated with the team, but the story was different from that of his teammates and head coach, who all said he voiced concern.

"I don’t really mix social media and football," Pickens said. "Just clearing out my page. Nothing really too crazy. It had nothing to do with the Steelers at all."

The Steelers chose not to introduce Pickens with the first-team offense as they ran out the starters against the Packers. That being said, he was still on the field when the team took the field for the first time.

Instead of Pickens, Diontae Johnson and Allen Robinson were introduced as the starters. Both were introduced throughout the season, but Pickens was always included as the third.
