Steelers Sign Former Bucs OL Dylan Cook

The Pittsburgh Steelers sign a left tackle with a very unusual football story.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have added another free agent offensive lineman, announcing a deal with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Dylan Cook.

Cook comes to the Steelers after spending his rookie season with the Bucs. He was an undrafted free agent out of Montana but only appeared in the preseason, playing left tackle in all three games. He spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.

Cook went into college as a quarterback for Montana State-Northern before transferring to Montana as a walk-on, and making the change from QB to offensive tackle - a very rare change in the football world. After becoming a starter in 2019, he was named All-Big Sky in 2021.

He now joins the competition with La'Raven Clark, Dan Moore Jr. and rookie first-round pick Broderick Jones for a spot on the 53-man roster.
