Steelers Try to Sign Orlando Brown, Lose to Bengals

The Pittsburgh Steelers ultimately lose the left tackle to the Cincinnati Bengals for a four-year deal.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers were looking into free agent left tackle Orlando Brown, but ultimately lost the Pro Bowler to their AFC North rival, Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Brown and the Bengals inked a four-year, $64.092 million deal to bring the big man to Cincinnati to protect Joe Burrow. According to Fowler, the strong guarantees from Cincy pushed the Bengals over the top as the team to pick, but Pittsburgh was hunting for the star lineman. He'll get $49.9 million through the first three years.

The Steelers have already added offensive guard Nate Herbig, but there was speculation they wouldn't be interested in a tackle this offseason and were going to let Dan Moore Jr. have another shot in 2023.

It could be a case of Brown being too big of a name to pass up, or the Steelers could be actively looking at options on the left side of their offensive line.

So far, with NFL Draft prospects, they've invited Ohio State's Dawand Jones and Florida's O'Cyruss Torrence to pre-draft visits.
