That being said, a team can never have enough firepower on offense when the playoffs arrive, especially when it comes to three-point range. And few players can claim to have had more firepower in their primes than Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony was one of the league's elite players for nearly 15 years, starting with his time with the Denver Nuggets in 2003 and continuing through with the New York Knicks, up until 2017. He finished his career with the Lakers in 2023 and is now an analyst for NBC.

April 1 is notorious for being April Fools ' Day. And many members of the basketball community were fooled by an X post from the @ClutchPoints account, which wrote, "🚨 BREAKING: Carmelo Anthony is COMING BACK from retirement and signing with the Lakers for the remainder of the season, per Shams. Melo is back to reunite with LeBron James and secure the one thing missing from his legendary resume: a championship ring."

It added, "Here's what he said in an announcement: 'I looked at the roster, I looked at Bron, and I just knew the story wasn't finished. I've been in the gym, the jumper is still pure, and I truly feel this is my absolute best chance to finally win a ring. It's time to bring that Hoodie Melo energy back to LA. Stay Melo.'"

La La Anthony Turns Heads at Cardi B Concert

Carmelo got engaged to Alani "La La" Vazquez in 2004. They were together for nearly two decades and had a son, Kiyan (now at Syracuse), in 2007. The couple got divorced in 2021.
