In this story:

Given how great Los Angeles Lakers star guard Luka Dončić has been performing on the court for the Los Angeles Lakers of late, it's hard to picture him going through personal battles off the court.

The 27-year-old is currently leading the NBA in points per game with 32.5. He has also tallied 8.4 assists and 7.8 rebounds and is looking to lead the Lakers to a late run into the postseason, perhaps to capture his first NBA championship.

However, it has become clear that the star guard has some personal matters going on.

There has been a lot of recent speculation that Dončić is enduring some turmoil with his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes. The couple has two daughters together, but Goltes and Luka's daughters don't live in Los Angeles.

There has been recent speculation that something was amiss in Luka and Anamaria's relationship. And this was confirmed on March 10, when news broke that Goltes had filed a petition seeking child support for the couple’s two minor children.

Documents obtained by TMZ Sports revealed that Goltes is requesting child support and attorney fees.

Luka Dončić Sends Powerful Message Amid Fiancée's Reported Petition for Child Support

Luka offered a strong statement in the wake of these reports, which were included in a March 10 article from ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

"I love my daughters more than anything and I've been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn't been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement," Dončić was quoted as saying in the article.

"Everything I do is for my daughters' happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can," he added. The article also said that Dončić has not seen his daughters or Goltes since early December of 2025, when he went back to Slovenia for the birth of their second daughter.

It sounds like Luka would prefer that his family (or at least his daughters) were living in Los Angeles with him at this time, but that clearly is not working out for whatever reason.

In matters like these, one can only hope that the family resolves matters quickly and that the children aren't impacted. The good news is that Luka has a title run with the Lakers that can hopefully take his mind off this story, of which there's surely more still to come.
