Speaking to reporters before Round 3, Clark revealed he hurt himself while throwing out the first pitch for the Detroit Tigers a few weeks ago, when he missed the cut at the Rocket Classic. He spent extra time in the city ahead of the tournament, as it's Tanner's hometown.

And then about 20 minutes -- the pitching coach was like, 'Hey, do you want to go throw underneath and meet some of the guys? And I was like, Sure.

"So we threw probably 15 warmups and then I actually started throwing it kind of hard. And I was like, 'Oh, this feels really good.' And it was stupid. I started throwing harder and harder. And then went out for the first pitch, kind of took a little bit off, and ten I woke up the next day and, oh my gosh, my arm was hurting.”
