Brielle Wright, the 2025 Ivy League Pitcher of the Year, has announced her commitment to Texas A&M, adding another strong arm to the Aggies' bullpen for the upcoming 2027 season.

A Rocklin, Calif., native, Wright joins Texas A&M after completing a strong career at Princeton. During her time with the Tigers, Wright set the single-season saves record, earning 11 saves during the season.

In 2025, Wright maintained a solid 1.56 ERA in the Ivy League Conference with 65 strikeouts in 76-plus innings in conference play, earning her the Ivy League Pitcher of the Year title and NFCA All-Region East Third Team Honors.

Overall in the 2025 season, Wright posted a  2.92 ERA on the season with 12 wins while holding opponents to a .229 batting average.

In her senior season, Wright appeared in 28 games while finishing with a 3.41 ERA and 64 strikeouts. She also finished her career as Princeton’s saves leader with 16 saves in her career.

After completing four seasons with the Tigers, Wright will compete for a fifth season after being protected through a lawsuit in Texas State Court. Earlier this month, a temporary restraining order was issued by the McLennan County District Court, which allowed Wright and 38 other plaintiffs to regain an additional year of eligibility.

In addition to Wright, Texas A&M has added seven other key players from the transfer portal.

Through the portal, the Aggies gained pitchers Maddison Azua and Nicole Bodeux from Texas State and Houston, respectively.

Across three seasons with the Bobcats, Azua threw over 511 innings and posted a 55-26 record. 2026 in particular was a breakout season for Azua, as she earned a 1.95 ERA and a 12-4 record in Sun Belt Conference play.

In her time with Houston, Bodeux appeared in 50 games throwing 102.1 innings for the Cougars.

Other transfers include: catcher Kennedy Miller and infielder Atalyia Rijo from Arkansas, infielder Trinitey Spencer from Texas Tech, outfielder Maddox McKee from LSU and outfielder Jordee Wilkins from Houston. Texas A&M’s transfer class was ranked No. 5 by D1 Softball.

Wright, Azua, and Bodeux will join an A&M squad that maintained a 4.84 ERA led by Sydney Lessantine and Sidne Peters, who threw the bulk of the innings for the Aggies.

Lessantine finished the 2026 season with a 3.30 ERA after appearing in 37 games and striking out 106 batters and earning NFCA All-Region Third Team honors. In 2026, across 126 innings, Peters maintained a 3.00 ERA and struck out 136 batters.

In the 2026 season, the Aggies finished with a 39-19 record, going 16-8 in SEC play.
