Matt Ryan has sprained shoulder, will miss Pro Bowl

Fresh off a disappointing loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC CHampionship game, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan now has an injury to recover from.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Ryan suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder later in the game against the 49ers on Sunday. Falcons coach Mike Smith said Ryan would have played in the Super Bowl in two weeks time had the Falcons defeated the 49ers, but that the quarterback will not play in this Sunday's Pro Bowl. Recovery from an AC joint injury usually takes around four weeks.
