Jamaal Charles out for Wild Card game vs. Colts with concussion

Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles is out for the Chiefs' Wild Card game in Indianapolis with a concussion, the team announced late in the second quarter.

Charles was hurt on the sixth play of Saturday afternoon's game and went to the locker room to be put through concussion protocol.

Charles carried the ball three times for 18 yards on the opening drive, including seven on the play he was injured, when he was tackled by Colts cornerback Greg Toler and then knocked to the turf by defensive tackle Jeris Pendleton. He was replaced by Knile Davis.

The Chiefs scored on their first four drives, including three touchdowns passes from Alex Smith, and led 24-10 at the time of the announcement.
