Caitlin Clark Has Somehow Surpassed Entire WNBA History With Absurd Stat

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has put points and assists on the board more than the rest of the WNBA put together.

Caitlin Clark had 37 points and 10 assists in the Indiana Fever's win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday. She did set a career-high with eight threes, but somehow the rest of the statline feels regular.

That's because it is—for her. But not for the rest of the WNBA combined.

The performance was Clark's fifth career game with at least 30 points and 10 assists. Not only is that more than any other player has ever had, it's more than all other players have ever had, put together.

There are four total 30-point, 10-assist games that were not put together by Clark.

Of course, Clark is only in her third season, and she missed the majority of her second year due to injury. So in just over two seasons' worth of actual gameplay, she has already surpassed the entirety of WNBA history in this stat.

Her coach Stephanie White previously referred to Clark as a "maestro" on the court, and perhaps no number better captures her overall control of the game than the above.

Clark and Kelsey Mitchell Make History as a Duo Too

It isn't just Clark making history in the Fever backcourt. Her teammate Kelsey Mitchell continues to build on her WNBA record of consecutive games scoring at least 20 points. She topped that mark for the 23rd straight contest against the Sky.

The two are setting new standards as a duo as well. They each scored at least 30 points versus Chicago, as Mitchell had 30 to go with Clark's 37. It is the third time the pair have both topped 30 points together in the same game, which is the most by two teammates in WNBA history.

The All-Star backcourt combined for 67 points, 14 assists, and 14 made threes in the victory. They scored or assisted on 98 of Indiana's 113 points.

Fever Offense Remains On Top

Given all that, it is no surprise that the Fever offense is elite. In fact, Indiana not only is averaging the most points per game by a team in the history of the league, but they also are tops in offensive rating, with the best mark ever there also.

They are scoring 96.6 points on average and 115.6 points per 100 possessions.

This is probably why Mitchell said they need to be about a B- on defense in order to accomplish their goals this season. White responded to that hoping for a B, but clearly the Fever are A force on the offensive end thanks to their backcourt.
