Mike White's Thoughts After South Carolina Loss at Home

After a third straight loss in a row, Georgia head coach Mike White recounts major takeaways from the home loss to South Carolina.

Athens, GA – The Georgia Bulldogs fall to 14-8 overall and 4-5 (ninth) in the SEC after a 72-62 loss to South Carolina, where they led for over 23 minutes.

The Bulldogs gave up 40 points in the paint to the Gamecocks, and when asked about their defensive performance through the game, Georgia head coach Mike White said, “We pressed most of the game," and South Carolina “had their way on the interior.”

Offensively, the Dawgs performed under season averages (77.2 points per game), boasting 62 points tonight and only 22 in the second half. When asked about second-half shooting, White stated, “We didn’t shoot it the way we needed to shoot it down the stretch.” White also gave credit to the strength of the South Carolina defense, saying “South Carolina is really good” and they are “tough, physical, [and] sound.”.

The Dawgs head on the road to play Mississippi State next Wednesday, February 7th, at 9 PM EST. The Dawgs have to “reevaluate this weekend and on Monday,” per White, and are going to “focus on everything."
