It was a back-and-forth affair between Alabama and Arkansas, but a late push by the Razorbacks helped them defeat the Crimson Tide 9-6.

Alabama drew first blood in the top of the second inning with a solo home run from Jim Jarvis. The Crimson Tide followed it up with a three-run burst at the top of the fourth inning.

After Ed Johnson hit a single and Jarvis hit a double down the right field line, Dom Tamez drove both runners home with a single to left field.

With Tamez on second after a wild pitch, William Hamiter hit another double to make the score 4-0 Alabama.

The Arkansas bats got on the board with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, and it was because of Kendall Diggs, who smacked a home run over the center field fence. At the end of four innings, the score was 4-3.

The two teams exchanged runs before Arkansas' Tavian Josenberger doubled down the right field line to give Arkansas its first lead of the game at 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh.

In the top of the eighth, with Tommy Seidl on third base and Pinckney on first, Drew Williamson tied the game with a single to left field, making the score 6-6.

The bottom of the eighth is where Arkansas sealed the deal with two home runs. First, Jace Bohrofen hit a leadoff homer to give the Razorbacks a 7-6 lead. Then, Caleb Cali hit a two-run home run to seal the deal.

Hagen Smith was credited with the win for Arkansas and he improved to 5-0 while Kade Woods suffered his first loss of the year.

The Crimson Tide fell to 21-7 and the Razorbacks improved to 22-5. The rubber game is scheduled to take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
