Scheduled Alabama-Western Kentucky game bumped back a year
Crimson Tide will host Hilltoppers in 2024 season opener instead of 2023
TUSCALOOSA -- The University of Alabama football program has its 2024 season opener set, without having track down a new opponent.
Western Kentucky, which had already agreed to make the trip to Tuscaloosa in 2023, announced that it will visit the Crimson Tide a year later.
The rescheduled game will be played at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Aug. 31, 2024, which will be the season-opener for both schools. It previously had been set as a Week 4 matchup in 2023.
The move was made so Western Kentucky could schedule Ohio State for the first time in program history. It announced the changes on Thursday.
Alabama is set to host Texas in 2023, and visit Wisconsin in 2024.
