The Alabama soccer team played to a 1-1 draw to the Chattanooga Mocs on Sunday afternoon at the UTC Sports Complex in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The Crimson Tide played energetically from the beginning with crisp passing and a sense of urgency defining Alabama’s style of play early on. Despite outshooting the Mocs 6-1 and creating a number of chances throughout the first half, the teams entered the locker rooms deadlocked at the break.

In the 57th minute, senior Nealy Martin stepped up to deliver her first goal of the season to put Alabama up 1-0 before Samantha Shaw drew the game level with her effort just 20 minutes later.

The game ended level at regulation, and after two overtime periods, both sides were forced to settle with a draw.

The Crimson Tide totaled four shots on goal in 16 attempts, with junior midfielder Taylor Morgan and freshman midfielder Carlee Giammona leading the team with four and three shots respectively.

The Crimson Tide led the Mocs 10-1 in total corners but failed to capitalize on extra chances.

Despite statistically outmatching its opponents in the last two outings, it hasn't paid off with a win.

The Crimson Tide will play the final match in its five-game road trip when it travels to take on Jacksonville State in Jacksonville on Thursday.
