After dropping the first two games of the series, Alabama baseball has one more chance to secure a win against LSU in the series finale.

The Crimson Tide lost the series opener on Friday night 8-6. There was a rally in the ninth inning that brought the tying run to the plate, but Colby Shelton struck out swinging to end the game.

Brad Bohannon's squad had a hot start on Saturday, starting the game with a leadoff home run from Jim Jarvis and an RBI double from Dom Tamez. Alabama then added four more runs in the third inning to take a commanding 6-1 lead.

Unfortunately, the LSU offense was too strong in the back half of the game, scoring eight runs in the final three innings to win the game 12-8.

“I’m really proud of the way our kids came out ready to play, excited to play, and came out hot, but LSU is a great team," Bohannon said after yesterday's game. "When you go on the road in front of 12,000 people against the No. 1 team in the country you’ve got to be flawless. We gave them five free baserunners with walks and HBPs and we made two errors. When you score eight, that’s got to be enough to win.”

Alabama has one more chance to secure a win, and it'll start with pitcher Jacob McNairy, who is making his 11th start of the season. In his last start, McNairy went 5 2/3 innings and only gave up one run while striking out six.
