Alabama women's basketball is officially going dancing.

The Crimson Tide earned the 10-seed in the Seattle Region of the NCAA Tournament. It's first opponent will be the 7-seeded Baylor Lady Bears on Saturday, March 18.

"Just really happy for our team," head coach Kristy Curry said after the announcement. "It's really special to see this group get to celebrate an opportunity to continue our season, especially in the NCAA tourney. It's really really hard to do, and this group has done so much good all season long.

"Just so happy to see their hard work pay off."

Curry's squad finished with a 20-10 record, including a 9-7 record in SEC play. Alabama had a chance of receiving a double-bye in the SEC Tournament, but three consecutive losses to end the regular season resulted in the Crimson Tide slipping to the 6-seed.

The Tide's SEC Tournament run was also cut short as it ran into 14-seeded Kentucky, who won the game by double digits. The 4-game losing streak put Alabama among the Last Four Byes, but the Crimson Tide was still firmly in the field.

Now the team has learned of its opponent and will play the Lady Bears in Seattle on Saturday.
