Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry, who is just 498 yards shy of ten thousand on his career, is set to become a free agent next week on March 11 for the first time in his eight year career.

The 6-foot-3, 245 lb, bruising back from Yulee, Florida was drafted in the second round by Tennessee in 2016, and has since put together some of the best seasons by a running back in NFL history.

He holds two rushing titles and is one of eight players ever to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.

While he has shown little to no signs of slowing down yet in his career, Henry commands a bigger paycheck than many teams are willing to give a running back entering their ninth season, specifically a team like Tennessee who is entering the second year of a rebuild.

It's certainly obvious that Henry has another year if not more left in the tank, but unless the pair can reach a mutual agreement, it's likely he has taken his last snap in Nashville.

According to a Twitter post made by Dallas area realtor Les Stacks, Henry recently purchased a new home in the area, so it's possible that the running back's free agency plans have already been revealed.

If Henry does sign with the Cowboys, he immediately provides an offensive spark to a already strong playoff team, and could potentially turn Dallas into a true Super Bowl contender.
