Lions Wide Receiver Jameson Williams to Miss Time with Hamstring Injury

Former Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams will likely miss the rest of preseason after suffering a hamstring injury on Wednesday according to Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell.
Williams already missed 11 games last season as he recovered from an ACL injury he sustained in the 2021 national championship game.
#Lions coach Dan Campbell told reporters that there's "a good chance” WR Jameson Williams will be out the rest of the preseason with his hamstring injury. That means the next time he’ll be on the field will be when his suspension ends after Week 6.

Additionally, the Detroit deep-threat will miss the first six games of the upcoming season after being suspended by the NFL for violating the league policy on sports gambling. Williams is one of several Lions to be suspended for gambling as the league is placing heavy emphasis on maintaining its integrity.
Williams in his six appearances in 2022 saw nine targets and hauled in one pass for 41 yards and a touchdown while also rushing just one time out of the backfield for 40 yards.
Coincidentally the Lions endured two receiver injuries on Wednesday as their top target Amon-Ra St. Brown suffered a minor ankle injury. Campbell said St. Brown will likely miss a week but be prepared for the start of the season.
Detroit faces the weight of expectations in 2023 as the Lions are the Vegas favorites to win the NFC North, something they haven't done since 1993 when the division was still called the NFC Central.
